Training
Archaeopteryx realize the versatile symbiosis of hang gliding and paragliding as well as gliding. Thus, pilots from those sections in principle bring ideal conditions to fly the Archaeopteryx.
The necessity for training, retraining or a license test depends on previous knowledge and desires of the individual pilot as well as the regulations of the country. As a manufacturer, we make for the pure purpose of information a noncommittal recommendation regarding the » training programme, based on our own practical experience. For us the safety of the pilot is important. Following our training concept, the trained or retrained Archaeopteryx pilot will experience the symbiosis in a safe style!
A training centre for the Archaeopteryx pilot, comming from whatever level, is located in Mollis, eastern Switzerland. It is under the lead of our chief flight instructor Walter Elmer.

License
For the pilot license required there are differences: In some countries no license at all is required to fly with the Archaeopteryx, in some a hang glider licence. However, in all cases the license acquisition is substantially less costly and takes less time than those for gliders and is comparable with a hang glider license. If a license is required it keeps its validity lifelong and has therefore not to be renewed every year.
We have started a world-wide inquiry with the national federations regarding this topic. The results are presented in the » license country list, which is constantly extended.
