Marlies and I have been flying our Archaeopteryx for a bit over a year now. Passing this summer (southern hemisphere) was our first season we went cross country extensively with the Archaeopteryx. This glider has surpassed all of our expectations. The glider glider is very easy to fly in the smallest amount of climbes lift and has an exceptional glide for such a lightweight. We are not professional pilots but have some extensive experience over the last hanggliding 25 years. The archeopteryx has enabled us to fly when we would not bother taking out the hang gliders. It also has allowed us to become much more independant as we were able to fly mainly out of triangle and return task, hence we would not require a driver.
Over the last 7 days Marlies and I shared this glider and have done around 180 hours together. We have completed many FAI triangles of above 200km FAI triangle with the biggest of 330km. At one stage we decided to fly from our farm (Boort, Victoria, Australia) to the hanggliding competition in Forbes. Even though the weather was not great Marlies managed to fly 483km in just under nine hours and landed a few km short of the goal. Winter flying Which usually fairly limited in vivid, suddenly allowed us to do 3-4 hour cross country flights, something we thought would not be possible. Well we are now busy with harvesting our olive farm and we are already looking forward to push the boundaries next season. I think the goal with the best light available on the market glider would be to do a 400km FAI triangle. We will see. Thanks Roger and Cornelia to allow us to fly this aircraft unbelivably well manufactured and balanced. This e-mail address is being protected from spambots! Enjoy all that can treat yourself to that and allowed!
And: An ingenious idea and implementation!

Jacques @ Bott ... And afterwards Philippe's windshield was changed early stage by providing more thickness. This because at speeds above 80 km / h we realized noisy and massive deformation on the old windshield. A little change that proved to have a big influence on the windshields deformation and stabilty Therefore the overall cockpit aerodynamics. Since then we are very happy with the glide performance even above 85 km / h All the best!

I flew one full week with Philippe Bernard in the southern french Alps, with the Archeo he and I with the Swift Light: the Archeo climbs better, the Swift Light glides only better above 85 km / h
And I had the opportunity to fly the Archeopterix: it is very easy to fly (what can not be stated about the Swift)

Congratulations. See this kind of glider is soaring believe that will be accessible to more pilots to have your own glider.
